Our founder, Leslaw, started the company after years of working across design, construction, and heritage property. Frustrated by how often corners were cut or character lost in modern development, he set out to build something better — a company that respects the old, embraces the new, and does things properly.
Since then, we’ve grown into a team known for our attention to detail, design-led thinking, and straightforward delivery. From restoring period homes to building bespoke extensions, managing full refurbishments or remodernising old spaces, we bring clarity and guidance to every job. What drives us is simple: we love great design, we value good relationships, and we believe buildings should feel as solid and well-considered as the people who live in them.
Our office and showroom is on 12 Gregory Street, Northampton and our company serves Northamptonshire, Warwickshire, Leicestershire, Bedfordshire, Oxfordshire and the Midlands.
Meet our founder and your new friend Les. A passionate designer and builder, Les set up the company in 2017 after years spent fine-tuning projects on site and behind a CAD screen, determined to streamline the home conversion process.
In May 2025 he appeared on the Grand Designs Live Show to talk about his modern home renovations, and today he still leads every project as the project manager, keeping our trademark mix of practicality, speed and style firmly on track.
A Chartered Structural Engineer (CEng MIStructE) with a background in national consultancies, Matthew is our go-to problem-solver when it comes to making buildings stand up.
With nearly 20 years’ experience, he handles every beam size, load check and calculation in-house, working side by side with our design team so plans are right before anyone lifts a tool. He explains technical details in plain language, keeps building-control paperwork smooth and makes sure your new space feels solid from day one.
Milena brings a thoughtful eye and organised precision to every project at L.D. Design & Build. She ensures our clients’ visions are realised through every stage—managing timelines, coordinating on-site teams, and selecting finishes that elevate each space.
Whether tracking technical details, sourcing materials, or arranging client walkthroughs, Milena keeps operations smooth and people smiling.
Sebastian is our friendly assistant. He deals with our enquiries, administrative tasks and answers any questions you may have.
David brings exceptional craftsmanship to every project, designing and building bespoke kitchens, wardrobes, and fitted joinery with a focus on timeless detailing and solid construction.
He works closely with our team from first sketches through to final installation, making sure each piece fits perfectly—both in style and in space. Known for his calm approach and meticulous attention to detail, David’s work is built to last and always finished to a standard that speaks for itself.
You’ll sometimes see Edward creating educational content for our company, introducing new projects, style ideas and company updates about what we’re working on next.
